femco.: A VR System for Socializing Menstrual Experiences

Developed and evaluated a system that allows users to experience menstruation from a first-person perspective using VR, and to understand the difficulties through behavioral choices. The project also focused on the potential of VR sickness as a proxy for dizziness during menstruation, aiming for use in companies and educational institutions.

Overview

This project developed 'femco.', a system that allows users to experience the physical and psychological difficulties of menstruation through VR. Users experience various situations from a first-person perspective and deepen their understanding of the challenges and social issues related to menstruation through behavioral choices. VR sickness is utilized to simulate dizziness during menstruation, and the system is intended for use in educational settings and corporate training.
